Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Folio collects when you create and order photo albums, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Folio you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and (if you place an order) a mobile number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile and email from Google.
- Your album content — the photos, captions, and layout choices you upload and create.
- Order and payment info — what you ordered and the shipping address. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
- Usage and device data — basic analytics and device/browser information to keep the Service working and improve it.
2. How we use your information
- to create, edit, print, and deliver your albums;
- to process payments and manage your orders and rewards;
- to contact you about your account and orders;
- to secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
3. Your photos and how they are stored
Your photos are uploaded directly to secure object storage. We keep a full-resolution original (used only for the final print), plus a web-resolution preview and a thumbnail used in the editor. To keep storage lean, full-resolution originals of photos you did not keep during culling are removed automatically about 30 days after an album goes inactive.
4. When we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Folio, and only as needed to provide the Service:
- Sign-in — Google, if you choose to sign in with it;
- Payments — our payment gateway, to process your transaction;
- Cloud storage — to store your photos and album data;
- Analytics — to understand aggregate usage;
- Print & shipping partners — to print and deliver your album.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights and users.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and the app working, and limited analytics to measure usage. We do not use your photos for advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
You can delete an album at any time. Deleting an album permanently removes its data and the associated photo files (originals, previews, and thumbnails) from our storage. We keep order and invoice records for as long as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes even after an album is deleted. To delete your account entirely, contact us using the details below.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data — including encrypted transport and access controls on storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your content safe.
8. Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal data, and you can ask us for a copy of what we hold. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
9. Children
Folio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version; significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
